A short five-minute walk and you're at Keiki Ponds Beach, where adults and kids will love exploring the warm tide pools while catching glimpses of minnows, shrimp and sea shells.

Kona Blue is only a mile from the Kailua-Kona Pier and to downtown, which is known for being a shopper's paradise. You'll also love exploring the area and its many significant Hawaiian cultural landmarks. Both the Hulihee Palace and the Mokuaikaua Church are located on Ali'i Drive. King Kamehameha, I spent his last years living near the current site of what is now the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, until his passing in 1819. The Ahu'ena Heiau, located on the grounds of the hotel, is an iconic landmark and reconstructed temple rebuilt by the late king and is on the register of National Historic Landmarks.

Watch the cruise ships from the Kailua-Kona Pier, where you'll have access to Hawaii's best scuba diving, kayaking, and dolphin and whale watching. Buy fresh tropical fruit at the farmers market, enjoy shave ice or a cup of Kona coffee. Dine on a light snack or a gourmet meal, buy an inexpensive souvenir or a piece of fine art, book an activity, or hang out at the beach. There's plenty to do in and around Kailua-Kona. The pier is the official starting and finishing point of the Ironman World Championship (held annually in October), and a great place to watch the sunset.

Kona Blue is a beautiful vacation home located on Hawaii's majestic Kona Coast. Here you will find the perfect mix of beauty, tranquility outdoor adventure. We hope that you will make it your choice for your next Hawaiian vacation!

Beautiful property, made for a great trip for our family of five. The main asset you don't get from the pictures is the view of the lava-ocean frontage, which is spectacular. A few other things to know. First, kitchen is well stocked with equipment and it made cooking easy. Second, the house is in a gated community where you will need your QR code to enter every single time (unless you're on foot, between 6am-8pm). Finally, the bedrooms and one of the sitting rooms have A/C but the other shared space does not. (We found that we didn't really need it since we were outdoors so much.) House was really stunning, pool was well-maintained, and the location couldn't be beat. Easy access to Kailua Kona restaurants and shops. Thanks for a great stay!

Kona Blue was a great home. It had lots of space and the ocean front view was incredible. I really liked that this is in a gated community too so that made it even better. We only ran into one issue and that was the first night the AC in the area over the garage wasn't working so it made that area unusable as it was 86 degrees in there. I was impressed though that they were able to get a technician out the next day on a Sunday to get it fixed. After that the AC ran great and kept it nice and cool. The outdoor Lanai lights didn't work but we didn't really care as we didn't really spend a lot of time outside at night. The last thing that we were not happy about is that the pictures online show different setups of rooms and different decor than what actually is. The outside Lanai had different seats and no rockers, the grass area outside is made to look a lot bigger than it actually is too, the main hang out room downstairs was setup differently with different furniture, and the several rooms upstairs were also laid out differently with different decor. Some updated photos would be great because our first impression upon arrival wasn't good. Overall it is a great house with lots of room. We would stay here again if we come back, but please get updated photos so everyone who rents this house can see what it actually looks like and not be surprised upon arrival.

My family of 4 along with my sister’s family of 3 and our parents stayed here for 7 days in February. The property was amazing! There was tons of space for us to spread out and great gathering places to come together. When at the house we spent most of our time on the Lanai and playing in the pool. We saw whales out back two of the 7 days. There is a wall along the lava rocks that leads to Keiki beach which is great for kids. The property is very close to downtown Kona and lots of good restaurants. Very convenient to the grocery store and anything else you would need. The community that the property is in is gated so we felt very secure. The kitchen was very well stocked and there was access to tons of amenities like beach chairs, pool toys and even fishing poles! The heated outdoor shower for rinsing after the beach and pool was an added bonus. We had such a great time here we didn’t want to leave. We would absolutely stay here again!

We just returned and everyone had a great time. We were three families and everyone had their own space. The kids enjoyed exploring in the backyard on the lava rocks. There was also a small sandy beach close by that the 7 and 10 year old enjoyed. The sunsets were fantastic. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our coffee in the mornings and soaking in the view. It was a great place for the whole family to reconnect.

Three families joined together in the beautiful and spacious house. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the house is perfectly located for quick runs into Kailu-Kona, as well as longer drives across the island to sites near Hilo. The children and adults in the group loved the pool and the easy proximity to the tidepools that are formed in the lava rock behind the poperty as well as the larger Keiki Ponds that are walking distance to the house. There is also a small sand beach walking distance to the property. The property management team was communicative and friendly as well. We would all rent this house again.

Great great location! Amazing access to the ponds for young children. There is quite a bit of foot traffic on the public access path which borders the houses. LOTS and LOTS of children's toys, pool toys, bedding, etc. Most well stocked house. Only downside was there were quite a few ants. Would definitely stay here again!
