Villa Rentals on the Riviera Maya

Located along the stunning Caribbean coastline of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, the Riviera Maya is a paradise of pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and ancient wonders.

Stretching from Puerto Morelos to Tulum, this coastal region is renowned for its breathtaking beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture. Visitors to the Riviera Maya are treated to an array of unforgettable experiences, from exploring ancient Mayan ruins to snorkeling in crystal-clear cenotes and indulging in world-class cuisine.

Ancient & Healing Tulum

One of the most famous points of interest in the Riviera Maya is the ancient city of Tulum. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Tulum is a well-preserved archaeological site that offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the ancient Maya. Visitors can wander among the ruins of temples and palaces, marvel at the panoramic views from the cliff-top Castillo, and relax on the pristine beach below.

Lively Playa del Carmen

Another highlight of the Riviera Maya is the bustling town of Playa del Carmen. This vibrant coastal city is known for its lively atmosphere, with bustling Fifth Avenue lined with shops, restaurants, and bars. Travelers can soak up the sun on Playa del Carmen's beautiful beaches, explore the vibrant street art scene, or embark on a diving adventure to discover the colorful marine life of the Mesoamerican Reef.

Cenotes, Temples and World-Class Diving

For those seeking adventure, the Riviera Maya is home to numerous cenotes, which are natural sinkholes filled with crystal-clear water. The ancient Maya revered these sacred sites, and today, they offer a unique opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, and diving.  Cenote Dos Ojos and Gran Cenote are among the most famous, with their stunning rock formations and underwater caves waiting to be explored.

Of course, no visit to the Riviera Maya would be complete without experiencing the vibrant underwater world of the Great Maya Reef. This expansive coral reef system is teeming with marine life, making it a paradise for snorkelers and divers. From colorful coral gardens to encounters with sea turtles, rays, and tropical fish, the Great Maya Reef offers endless opportunities for underwater exploration.

In addition to its natural and historical wonders, the Riviera Maya is also known for its luxurious villas and resorts. Whether your'e seeking a secluded beach retreat or an action-packed family vacation, the Riviera Maya caters to every type of traveler.

Riviera Maya Vacation Rentals - FAQ

Answers to common questions about Riviera Maya vacation rentals.
Which airport do we fly into to reach Tulum or Playa del Carmen?

Nonstop service to Tulum (TQO) has steadily increased in recent years. For Example, United flies nonstop from New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago; American offers nonstop service from Dallas/FTW and Miami; and Delta offers a nonstop from Atlanta. However, the big airport with plenty of nonstops from the US and Canada providing access to the Riviera Maya is Cancun International Airport (CUN). Tulum is about a 1.5-hour ride from the airport; transfers from Cancun are easily managed by premium car service.

What are the taxes and fees associated with Riviera Maya villa rentals?

Villa renters incur a 16% VAT Tax, and a 6% Lodging Tax applied to base nightly vacation rental rates. Our quotes list all fees in the breakdown. Certain villas also charge a service fee and an ADW (Accidental Damage Waiver) fee, which is generally under $150. The quotes on our website display the base charges and allow you to expand and view the details associated with the total cost of a vacation rental.

Does the Riviera Maya have a rainy or low season?

Running from around June to November, the summer season sees temps averaging around 78°F (26°C). During this period, you can expect more humid weather. This is a tropical climate, so, like Hawaii's rainy or winter season, rain, sometimes heavy, will come and go. You may experience a downpour and then warm sunshine in a matter of an hour. The upside to traveling during this period is that it's less crowded, and you will find fewer crowds and lower rates. One thing to be aware of is the potential for hurricanes during these months.
