Glass Bottom Boat Tour at Round Hill Jamaica
On our last visit to Jamaicsa, we enjoyed a relaxing outing on the water with the Glass Bottom Boat Tour at Round Hill, Jamaica. This complimentary excursion is a fun way for the entire family to see the island's vibrant marine life.
Guests staying in one of our Jamaica villas properties with Round Hill membership can enjoy this complimentary tour—one of the many amenities that make this resort a standout among Jamaica luxury resorts. While membership terms may vary, we'll ensure everything is set for your visit.
The Glass Bottom Boat Tour
Set sail with Captain Achim and his reliable crew member, Ron. The resort provides This tour free of charge, offering breathtaking views of the island both above and below the water. Even with the seas still settling after a recent hurricane, the scenery doesn't disappoint.
Through the glass bottom, you'll cruise over coral reefs and see tropical fish swimming in their blue lagoon. Something fun to watch out for are the lobster traps placed in the water by the nearby Lobster Trap restaurant. So you can follow-up a boat trip with a lobster meal later on that evening!
Dinner at the Lobster Trap
Dinner at the Lobster Trap restaurant is almost like the second part of the glass bottom boat tour; you get to eat the lobsters you saw on in traps on the tour!
This local favorite is located between Round Hill and the Tryall Club. A cab ride costs roughly $30 roundtrip, not including gratuity.
It's a popular spot so you'll need to make a reservation and place your order ahead of time. They restaurant only acceppted US dollars on our recent visit, but there is a menu in Jamaican dollars that turn out to be basically the same amount. We should add that while it's a local spot the cost of the meal is similar to what we might pay in the US.
Having said that, the meal was delicious and the family-run resturant has alot of old charm. They have their pots right out front of the restaurant. Very memorable!
From the Lobster Trap, you can see the Round Hill resort and it's also in a perfect location to take take in the sunset.
A Note - We were told that the restaurant had a casual atmosphere, but most of the patrons were dressed in country club wear.
