Kahala Cottage

If you're interested in sharing the view of a tiny slice of Waikiki from an overcrowded apartment, then there's a bunch of places that you'll probably like better; this probably isn't the place for you. If you're interested in a more authentic Honolulu experience, complete with Italian sports-cars parked in the otherwise-unassuming houses down the block and a quiet beach that's a walk down the road, then this might be for you. We are always grateful when we're able to find a quiet little nook that we can call home-base for our travels; a place from which we can go on adventures and explore a place which we can feel like "home" once we're done exploring. This was exactly that kind of place for us while we explored Honolulu and Oahu. By the end of our time there, it truly felt like "home" and we were sad we had to go. But this trip was a bit different too; we wanted a place that not only was a good "home base," but also was a good place that the three of us could work remotely. This also fit that bill quite well. We had multiple daily video conferences happening via Zoom & Teams and never missed a beat. In fact, if it weren't for the sounds of the tropical birds, cooing during meetings, no one would have known we weren't home. Opening up the windows, the sweet, fresh, cool breeze filled the house -- like the house was breathing. And whenever we had the urge, we jumped into the pool for a relaxing swim. The close proximity to the mall was a bonus as there's plenty of eating selections available when we just wanted to let someone else do the cooking, but didn't want to sit in traffic. There's a limited view from the house itself, so if that's the kind of thing you're interested in, then you should keep looking. But for us, we got to see some of the most beautiful sunrises of our lives during our stay; we got to go out and find our favorite sunrise beach -- because it wasn't just outside the window. For that, I'm grateful & I'd definitely do it again.

Kahala cottage worked very well for our family of six. Close to Kahala Mall and groceries, Kahala Beach and Diamond Head. The pool with safety fence was great for the kids. Would love to come again.

I rented this cottage for members of our team who traveled from the neighbor islands to Honolulu for work. From the beginning, the experience was excellent. I worked with Megan who was very courteous, professional and friendly. She met us at the cottage to personally deliver the keys and ensure everything was OK before she left. The cottage was perfectly located near Kahala Mall and Wholefoods. Only 15 minutes to downtown Honolulu and close to Kahala Beach Park. I would highly recommend this rental and our agent, Megan.

Three of my colleagues and I rented this lovely, clean, and bright home while attending a conference in Honolulu, which was being held at the Hawaii Convention Center. It is a short 10-15 minute drive to the conference center and about the same to snorkeling and hiking near Hanauma bay. The house is within walking distance of a shopping center with a Whole Foods and Longs Drugs, so grocery shopping is very easy. Some of us are fond of running in the morning, so we enjoyed being within a mile or so of Diamond Head Crater National Monument. It is a little out of the way from Waikiki, so you will either need a bus pass or a car to really be able to get around downtown Honolulu.
