Umetsu Kauai Vacation Cottage

This vacation cottage is a small quaint vacation rental in Hanalei, Kauai, that accommodates two guests. It features a garden view of local flora and fauna along with a peek of the island's mountains and the Pacific Ocean. This Kauai vacation rental is a short walk to the sands of Hanalei Bay beach.

The cottage is 1,000 square feet all on one floor. A single bedroom and 1.5 baths are included in the floor plan. Also available are a living room with lanai access, kitchen, separate sitting area, and outside dining area. Other than the latter area and the bedroom, the rest of the public areas in this luxury villa are based on an open floor plan. The cottage does have air-conditioning to ensure comfortable sleeping conditions. 

The single bedroom of this Hanalei Kauai villa is wood-paneled with a hand-woven rug over a hardwood floor. The area is separated from the rest of the house by a Japanese-style sliding glass door. Each pane of the door is opaque to increase privacy.

A king-size mattress sits on top of a platform frame in this Kauai villa. Additional amenities in the bedroom are a multi-speed ceiling fan and two nightstands with identical bamboo lamps. A small sitting area faces opposite the bed. The bedroom of this Kauai vacation rental has an en-suite bathroom with full bath and shower. It is shared with other guests via a hallway entrance. The half-bath contains a toilet and sink combination.

The open living room is wide instead of long. It offers direct access to the villa's lanai and has a garden view via a pair of picture windows. Between these, a TV, DVD, and CD are hidden in a dark-stained cabinet. In addition to natural lighting, the living room is illuminated by a lighting fixture with a built-in speed-adjustable ceiling fan.

Hardwood floors continue through this room along with wood paneling. Another hand-woven rug covers a majority of the floor. A large sofa and wide cushioned armchair provide seating for the villa's occupants and guests.

Another sitting area is situated off of the living room. This area contains a small sofa with matching foot stool and upholstered armchair. It's illuminated by a light fixture/ceiling fan combination and bamboo standing lamp.

The kitchen in this luxury villa is fully-equipped and has direct access to the cottage's lanai. In addition, a large picture window with a view of the garden sits above the stainless-steel sink and counter top. To the left of the counter is an electric stove, also stainless steel, with six burners.

Also included in the kitchen appliances are a stainless-steel refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, and microwave oven. The latter sits on a movable island that can be re-positioned for cooking purposes. A cupboard is located at the other side of the kitchen for extra storage.

Outside amenities of this Kauai villa include a covered lanai that stretches the length of the cottage. It features a pair of wicker seats with foot stools and a bar area that looks back into the kitchen. A dining area that seats four is on the opposite side of the lanai.

With direct-beach access, you will be wanting to spend as much time as possible on the sands of Hanalei. To prevent sand from getting into the house, an outdoor shower is available to guests of the cottage.

Other amenities of Kauai vacation rental are a barbecue grill and washer & dryer. Wireless high-speed internet is available in all interior spaces and the lanai. In addition to these, the villa comes with all items needed for a long-term stay. This includes bathroom towels and washcloths, extra sheets and pillows for the bedroom, and dining & cooking implements in the kitchen.
