Directly overlooking the illustrious 15th hole of the Mauna Lani Golf Course, one of the most photographed over-the-ocean holes in the world, this luxurious two bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom condominium located in Mauna Lani Point, South Kohala on the Big Island impresses with uninterrupted panoramic ocean views and unique Indonesian and Hawaiian-inspired decor throughout. Enjoy the sunset every night from your private lanai seeing only the ocean, palm trees, lava, and green grass. Maui beckons from a distance. Whales can be seen offshore breaching during the winter and one of the best snorkel spots on the island is a short walk away. There is enough room to comfortably sleep four guests and a trundle bed in the living room to sleep one more. Beautifully maintained grounds, concrete construction and privacy walls ensure quiet and tranquility, Mauna Lani Point B105 is the ultimate vacation rental to enjoy the year-round sunshine and warm weather for which this region is famous. Indeed, one of our guests recently wrote the following in the Owner’s guest book:

“Thank you so much for our stay in your beautiful condo! It truly was an amazing experience for us. It is a special place and has every amenity. We are so sad to leave and hope to book again…. It is really the best place we have stayed on the Big Island in over twenty years of visiting.” (Emphasis added.)

The property was recently remodeled with showers and a stand-alone bathtub. The ocean is immediately seen upon opening the front door where beautiful new tiling flows from the entryway into the fully equipped kitchen, which boasts all stainless-steel appliances, Koa cabinets, granite countertops and a breakfast bar for two. The adjacent dining room includes an exquisite carved Indonesian arch wall feature in front of floor to ceiling mirrors that extend into the living room. The designer furnishings in the sunken living room are a great place to gather to play games, read books, or watch movies provided by the owners on one of three HD Televisions located in the until all with extended cable TV options. The large sliding glass doors expand your living space to your private outdoor lanai, which has unobstructed ocean and fairway views. There’s plenty of outdoor seating for dining and lounging, and in addition to the phenomenal views, you might also watch golfers attempt the 15th hole, canoes glide along the ocean, dolphins and whales frolicking offshore, or the ever-changing colorful sunset every night behind the swaying palm trees.

There is a cozy office alcove and desk next to windows with stunning ocean and garden views where you can surf the web, send emails, and write postcards to family and friends who weren’t able to join you. Upgraded high speed internet and a printer is provided. There are HD televisions in both bedrooms as well as the living room (56”) all of which have Cable TV with HBO Max, Disney, ShowTime and Netflix and other extended cable network channels. The sizable recently remodeled master bath includes dual vanities, as well as a recently installed tiled walk-in shower and stand-alone soaking tub. Cruelty free bath, hair, laundry and other cleaning products are provided by the owners. The unit contains both central air conditioning and several ceiling fans to keep you cool even on the warmest of nights.

This unit is part of the Mauna Lani Point B complex, which is generally considered to be the prime location in Mauna Lani Point, if not also all of the other condominiums located in the greater Mauna Lani Resort. Indeed, the Mauna Lani Point was one of the first projects built in the Resort and was developed on prime ocean front property. It has a gated entry way for security and the limited number of units in the Mauna Lani Point are spread over substantial acreage, unlike many other developments in the area. The recently remodeled upscale Mauna Lani Hotel and the Orchard Hotel are also located in the Resort within walking distance, Both hotels have excellent restaurants with ocean views. It should be noted that both of these Resort hotels usually charge substantially more per night for a single room than B-105 charges for 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a well-stocked kitchen. This access to a kitchen and large refrigerator will provide you with the option to avoid the inconvenience and considerable expense of dining out for all of your meals. In addition to the gourmet market located within the Resort, there are several farmer’s markets in the area where you can buy incredibly fresh produce. There are also excellent locations to buy sushi grade fresh fish to grill on the gas BBQ’s centrally located near the Mauna Lani Point’s pool, sauna and hot tub.

The Resort also offers world-class amenities for an additional fee. You can play golf at the two Mauna Lani Golf Courses, play tennis, or workout in their fitness center. There is also a nine-hole golf course for beginners which is unique in the entire Island. The world famous Mauna Kea resort is within ten minutes from the Resort and has world class dining and a golf course open to the public that for many years was ranked the best in Hawaii. Many believe that the Mauna Kea’s famous third hole over the ocean is the most beautiful par three in the world. Waikoloa and Hapuna also have excellent public golf courses within fifteen minutes. The owners swear that the Mauna Lani also serves the best Mai Tai’s in Hawaii. A helicopter company which flies guests over the Island is less than ten minutes away.

Nature is all around you. Some of the best beaches the Big Island has to offer are very close including Hapuna, Mauna Kea, and Anaeho’omalu Bay. Composed of primarily fine grains of lava, 49 Black Sand Beach is only a five-minute drive from the unit through a gated entry. Guests will also have access to the Mauna Lani private beach club for members which provides beach lounge chairs and cabanas along with a restaurant and bar which can be accessed quickly by car or a short ten-minute walk along the coastline from the unit. Nearby the unit, excellent snorkeling may be found directly outside to the left of the 15th green, at the Beach Club and at Black Sands Beach. For those willing to work a little harder for their day(s) at the beach, you can hike to the best beach on the island that can’t be reached by road, Makalawena Beach, made even more alluring because it is often secluded, especially on weekdays. Kiholo Bay, with plenty of turtles, is also a beautiful spot for those willing to engage in a hike to the beach. The owners provide beach chairs, beach towels, a beach umbrella and a cooler for use if you want to explore the Island’s world famous and pristine beaches.

Their unit has a keyless entry pad, so you never need to worry about taking or losing your keys. There is a gourmet supermarket five minutes away and Waikoloa Resort with its extended shopping, restaurants and movie theater is only ten minutes away. Waimea is twenty minutes up the hill where the world-famous Parker Ranch is located, and Kona is forty minutes south. The Kona airport is a relatively short cab ride only thirty minutes away. Hilo can be accessed by way of the Saddle Road in less than 90 minutes, which also provides access to the top of Mauna Kea and all its famous observatories. Excellent stargazing may have had only steps outside the until directly off the lanai due to the lack of surrounding lights. There is a reason why all of those observatories were built on Mauna Kea. The Resort is located in one of the drier sections of the island, so sunny days are the rule, rather than the exception. The humidity levels are also substantially lower than most other parts of Hawaii.

Additional Notes:
Please note that some units in the Section B development of Mauna Lani Point are scheduled for drainpipe repairs from approximately 1/16-3/5/2024 and from approximately 3/25-5/13/2024. These units are on the other side of the complex and not next door to B105, but you might hear some construction noise during those periods, particularly during the first and last weeks of each project, especially to the extent the B-105’s windows are open, or you are outside the unit while some portions of the work are being performed. Working hours are limited to Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Thank you for your understanding - any changes made to these plans will be updated here.
